This course takes students, step-by-step, through doing the work and writting the paper for the Business Operations Research Event.
Topics covered include:
- tips to selecting the best business to research related to the annual topic,
- basic information on the annual subject to help the student have a solid start
- information necessary to help students effectively write each section of the paper,
- and coaching on how to wow the judge with the presentation.
Additional information covered includes:
- ethics in research
- tips to make writing "proper"
- research terminology glossary
- resources for proper documentation
- how to conduct an interview
- suggestions on conducting surveys
- validity of a research instrument
- and more relevant tips on effective research.
This course could be used by an individual doing the research project on their own or it could be used to assist a teacher in the classroom as all students do the research project.
